In this video, we talk about the counterargument—reasons NOT to live in Boston as a dentist.
Boston, like other large cities in the U.S., is saturated with dentists. This means starting one’s own office is more difficult. New graduates will more likely have to associate at one or even multiple locations. Established dentists may need to strive to be “super dentists” or develop a network of “in-house specialists”.
The cost of living is incredibly high in Boston, rivaling New York and San Francisco. For 600K, one can only buy a 900 square feet condo or small outdated home. A dentist living in Boston would have to make $550K to e equate to a dentist in Tennessee making $300K.
Additionally, Boston has harsh winters.
